As Good As It Gets

Lyrics
Savage at heart
Escape for a day you won't go back
I should have seen from the start
There'd be more heartache than pain

I'm watching the wind blow
I'm watching the rain
I'm watching this love grow
No more heartache or pain

Cos this is real
This is real
This is real
This is as good as it gets
This is as good as it gets

I'm staying for a party
And I'm staying for change
I'm feeling kinda naughty, and let's say
Nothing has changed

I'm watching my love grow
I'm watching the kids go mad and I'm
I'm watching this whole thing from above

This is real
This is real
This is real
This is as good as it gets

Second time round I'll make it better
Second time round I'll make you stay
Second time round I'll make it better, for you
My honeymoon child
My honeymoon child
My honeymoon child
My honeymoon child

Cos this is real
(My honeymoon child)
This is real
(My honeymoon child)
This is real
(My honeymoon child)
This is as good as it gets
This is as good as it gets
Song Information
As Good As It Gets is the double A-side off the World Away / As Good As It Gets single.
Unlike Friend, which was also a double A-side (to Pull The Strings), As Good As It Gets got quite a bit of air time - more than World Away.

As Good As It Gets was written by James for the NZ movie Savage Honeymoon. Director, Mark Beesely, was very impressed with James's abilities when he heard the song.

The album version of as good as it gets is very different to the single - many fans have said that they have been surprised at how different the two sound. The single mix was produced by Chris Van Der Geer, who is a member of the NZ band Stellar*.
